Scientific education, scientific communication, precision medicine
Dima Darwish is the head of scientific education at Qatar Genome Programme and a scientific literacy and communication expert specializing in healthcare, research and development. Her work and expertise focus on spreading awareness on the field of precision medicine through education, by targeting different stakeholders from different industries.
Darwish is the author behind the "Genome Heroes" Arabic comic strip, which she developed to make the principles of genomics more accessible to younger students. She also helps high school students understand the breath of career opportunities in the genomics fields through internship programs and through classes organized in collaboration with Qatar University. Her other work provides the general public with information on genomics through seminars, media profiles and collaborations with healthcare professionals.
Darwish has a B.Sc. in genetics and an M.Sc. in biotechnology.
