Student Housing and Guest Accomodation

We’ve got a couple of options to help everyone make the most of their time with Qatar Foundation.

Introduction

01

Staying on campus means living in our modern residential halls purposefully built to cultivate a supportive living environment that is designed to satisfy your needs and those of our environment as well.

If you aren’t staying on campus, you can still experience Qatar Foundation in the heart of Doha near several popular cultural stops or stay in a Premier Inn right next to the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Options for Students

02

We try to make sure that our students remain focused on fulfilling their true potential inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we’ve built student housing that’s designed with your comfort in mind. With housing that is accessible, sustainable, and affordable, there are plenty of reasons to consider living in Education City.

Live independently in shared spaces

Our student housing offers four different types of units, with each resident having a private bedroom and bathroom. These units are also designed to be in close proximity with communal spaces such as study areas, TV lounges, prayer rooms, and laundry facilities.

Available units at both our residential complexes include:

  • Single-person room
  • One-bedroom apartment, with a kitchenette and a lounge
  • Two-bedroom apartment, with a shared kitchenette and lounge
  • Studio apartment: one main room consisting of a bedroom, kitchenette, and lounge

All units are fully furnished, including bedding, Internet access, a television, an electronic whiteboard, and modular furniture that lets students personalize their space.

NorthNest and SouthNest

Our two residential complexes are designed with our students’ comfort in mind.

Oxygen Park

Our housing complexes are surrounded by Oxygen Park: 130,000 square metres of gardens, covered walkways, running tracks, an equestrian track, and a sports pitch.

Experience sustainable comfort

Our residential halls are designed to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Level standards, and have the distinction of being the largest collection of LEED-certified student housing facilities in the world. About 15 percent of the power used in the residences is collected from renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, solar panels, and water-powered fixtures located within the facility.

Each complex is technically savvy and offers on-site IT support, in-complex phone service, and electronically controlled temperature and lighting systems. In addition, the complex offers extensive gardens, courtyards, walking paths, and outdoor activity spaces.

Living in the student housing complex is great. I get to enjoy a lot of the events that happen on campus even more. Plus, I don’t ever have to worry about being stuck in traffic!

Sulaiman BahHamad Bin Khalifa University

Multaqa

Multaqa is Education City’s main student center. It serves as a center for recreational activities, a place where students from any university can meet to rest, dine, play sports, or take advantage of all the entertainment facilities they have at their fingertips.

Thrive in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual community

Our residential villages host students from all universities in Education City, serving as an additional space for students from different universities to interact with each other. By living in student housing, you have the opportunity to involve yourself in the residential community and, through residence life programs, learn about leadership development, cultural competence, sustainable living practices, and Qatari values and traditions.

Both residential villages also include communal majlises, which include a reception area, a computer lab, prayer rooms, study spaces, a dining court, and a coffee house. These spaces allow you to interact, work, or dine-in not only with fellow residents, but also with non-resident students and visitors.
