We offer a range of scholarships and need-based financial aid options for students. Our admissions are need-blind and we remain committed to attracting the best students from around the world, regardless of their financial needs. Our loans are interest-free and include an option for repayment through working at one of hundreds of approved organizations in Qatar.

International degree, regional culture

After studying at our branch campuses in Qatar, students obtain the same degree as that from the university’s home campus.

The curricula taught in Doha are identical, and carry the same academic rigor, reputation, and tradition. The leadership and faculty of branch campuses are also made up of members that hail from their respective parent universities.

How Northwestern and Georgetown joined forces in the Middle East

When Northwestern University and Georgetown University first opened their branch campuses in Qatar, they focused on offering degrees from their most renowned schools: the Medill School of Journalism and the Walsh School of Foreign Service, respectively.

In the US, these schools are located hundreds of kilometers away from each other, but in Education City, they are only a few feet apart and offer joint programs.

VCUarts Qatar, the first university to be founded at Qatar Foundation, has established itself as a center of excellence for education and research in art and design over the past 20 years, and has substantial involvement with the emerging design industries in Qatar.

If you’re interested in a degree from a leading foreign affairs university, you can apply to Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q). Established in Education City in 2005, GU-Q offers a four-year undergraduate program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS) degree. The liberal arts education at GU-Q offers students training in a wide range of subjects, along with the ability to specialize in key international affairs topics.

Creating an ‘Education City’ of our own in Pakistan

“Our experiences at Education City and GU-Q were influential in developing the Orenda [curriculum]. We were given the desire to serve and create paths where seemingly none existed.

Our cartoons are set in an imaginary city dubbed ‘Taleemabad’, which is Urdu for ‘Education City’. The amazing thing is that anyone can be a part of it; it is a revolution that excludes no one.”
