Dr. Mohammed Hammoud

Dr. Mohammad Hammoud is a computer science faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q). He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh, US, in 2010. Dr. Hammoud has a broad interest in computer systems with an emphasis on distributed systems, cloud computing, database management systems, and parallel computer architectures. His current research focuses on designing and building systems for Big Data Analytics, Information Retrieval, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. Besides research, Dr. Hammoud teaches various courses at CMU-Q, including distributed systems, database applications, principles of computing, and entrepreneurship for computer science. Dr. Hammoud also founded a startup company at Qatar Science & Technology Park, namely, Rimads, which aims at transforming the experience of people with healthcare and pharmaceutical services using AI and computer science techniques.
