WCM-Q's Healing Hands Essay Competition

Calling all Qatari high-school students! Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is pleased to announce its annual high school essay competition, Healing Hands. The competition encourages young people to share their views on becoming a doctor in Qatar. Four lucky winners will receive the Doctor of the Future Scholarship. The winning essays and finalists will receive valuable prizes.

Topic: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of safeguarding public health. People are ready to return to their normal lives, including attending gatherings like concerts and sporting events, but through several different vaccines are in circulation, experts believe more time is needed to achieve herd immunity. With the FIFA World Cup just around the corner, Qatar must be ready for any eventuality. How can Qatar plan a safe, successful World Cup event that protects public health? How can Qatar overcome the challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic? Conversely, what opportunities has the COVID-19 pandemic created for the health sector in Qatar?
